A NEW CHURCH

THROUGH SCC’s, BY THE PEOPLE,

FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Beginning from October 7^th the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, the parishioners of Fatehpura Colony, Chhotaudepur came together during the whole month of October to join hands in prayer and worship every day without skipping even the Sundays or Feast days.

This initiative was taken by some members of the Parish Council. They wanted to try out this new way of carrying Christ’s message from door to door thus help build a NEW CHURCH.

The people used to gather in different homes at around 7.00 pm after their day’s activity and read the Gospel passage and then reflect on its message. The priest present would explain the meaning of the passage and give his reflections too.

It was very nice to see even the children taking part in reading the gospel texts and also singing bhajans. It is our sincere hope that the faith would be planted and imbibed even more deeply in the hearts of the faithful just like the Early Christian Community.

There were also moments of prayer for healing and praying over. The one’s who took this initiative hoped to instil the faith first among their family members and then reach out to their villages where they come from by proclamation and witnessing to the Gospel values.
