REVIVAL – 2011

On August 27^th & 28^th, a youth conference was organized at the Deanery level at Bhestan Parish, Surat. The purpose of the camp was to bring together the youth from different parishes and help them experience God’s love to bring about a revival in their lives. 60 youth from Navsari, Billimora, Bhestan, Nanpura cam together. Different sessions were conducted by a prayer group of youngsters from Bombay, Fr. Charlie SJ, Fedrick Lawrence (Makarpura Parish, Baroda), Mr. Ralph from Surat.

The conference began with action songs to energize the youth followed with Br. Stanley's  session on the Word of God. He shared his testimony and called on every youngster not to despise ones youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. The session ended with a skit based on the theme.

Sr. Sarojni preached on how to lead a holy life before marriage. It was very enlightening. A skit was enacted to show the bridge between God and Man and how one can overcome it and be united to God.

After the lunch break there was a dance performed to show the bondage and rescue from sins. Various actions songs made the occasion very participative. Soon after this, a skit was put up to show how sin is contagious followed by confession. The day afternoon session ended with spirit filled music along with inner healing prayers.

Fr. Charlie conducted some interesting games which included Jesus Jumble, Mind games, Airport games. The day was concluded with the cultural programme put up by various parishes.

The second day began with the Eucharistic celebration followed by action songs. A session was given on “God will love you even if you are a sinner”. Accordingly a skit and dance was put up. Later during the day Mr. Ralph from Surat Parish took a session on 'Joe hari Window". It was very inspiring as he spoke from his personal experience and it was very interesting too. The youngsters were glued to ever word he uttered as they could link it with their lives. The conference concluded with the infilling of the Holy Spirit. 

The "Revival" conference was indeed a success. The youth  allowed the Lord to revive them and to be a new creation. 

A big thanks to the Parish Priest Fr. Jayanti Macwan and his team at Bhestan, Surat for hosting the occasion and taking care of every need of the youth.
